Local Woman Says the Telephone Call Was Not a Date

San Francisco- Local Woman Kara Hoffman, 34, insisted that the call made to her by Jared O’Neil, a AT&T salesman, was not a date and that she is not interested in pursuing anything more with him.

Friday Hoffman got a call from a tele marketer, Jared O’Neil, 23, and she was reported to have been very polite to O’Neil and insisted that she was not ready for a upgrade on her high speed DSL internet. She went on to kindly refuse many other products that O’Neil was selling and made a clear statement that he was in fact interrupting her night by prolonging this sales call.

Crooked Street Press learned that O’Neil, after hanging up with Hoffman, started bragging to his other buddies that he had just finished a date with a “wonderful woman” and hopes to have another soon.

“Jared is the man!” Taj Patel, fellow AT&T tele marketer said. “I don’t know how in a 30 second sales pitch he can land a hot woman like that.”

Hoffman had a good laugh when CSP reporters congratulated her on her new boyfriend and in fact made it clear to us that she had no recall of the phone call with a boyfriend of any sorts. CSP told her about Mr. O’Neil from AT&T and her face became more of the serious expression. “That call was a sales call….it was not a date!” Hoffman exclaimed.

CSP reporters got back into the company panel van and went back to see O’Neil where he was thus informed that Hoffman claimed that the phone call last night was not a date. O’Neil turned in his cubical and picked up the phone and dialed Hoffman’s number. It was on speed dial. No answer. O’Neil left a message.
